Ned
P. Baudat, midstream project management, Mustang Engineering,
L.P.
Ned
brings over forty years of LNG and gas processing experience to
the podium in engineering studies, conceptual process design,
start-up, fabrication, project engineering, and project management.
Fields of experience include LNG, refinery, gas liquids recovery,
offshore, petrochemical, and gas treating facilities.
Before joining Mustang in December 2003, Ned worked for Bechtel
Global Gas Group where he was Project Director for the Darwin
LNG facility, responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction.
Prior to that, he was the Project Manager for the Atlantic LNG
Trinidad facility, responsible for overseeing engineering, procurement,
and construction management.
Ned has a degree from Rice University in Chemical Engineering,
is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas, and
holds numerous patents - most recently a series of patents under
the moniker, LNG Smart which offer new design products and
services for LNG liquefaction, storage and regasification facilities
to support gas commercialization in remote oil and gas fields.
William
T. Bennett, Jr. president and ceo, Bennett & Associates, LLC
Mr. Bennett graduated from Tulane University in 1963 with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Mathematics and Psychology and continued
on through 1964 for a Master of Business Administration with a
specialization in Operations Research, also from Tulane University.
He has done postgraduate work in Civil Engineering in the areas
of Computer Aided Structural Design, Metallurgy, and Structures
at Tulane University. Mr. Bennett has completed the American Welding
Society's course in Metallurgy and Welding Processes, Geological
Hazards for Offshore Structures at Rice University and international
Business Machines course in Basic Computer Languages.
Upon completing his Bachelor's Degree, Mr. Bennett worked offshore
for an international offshore construction firm. Subsequently,
he came ashore to work for a naval architectural firm as a computer
programmer, but has immediately attracted to the design and construction
of all types of marine and offshore vessels. Prior to joining
Friede & Goldman, as a Project Engineer, in August of 1974,
Mr. Bennett enhanced his experience by working in the design and
estimating departments of a major shipyard for several years.
He began working with F & G involving himself primarily in
the design and construction of offshore units. Mr. Bennett availed
himself the opportunity to live and work in Japan during the construction
of Pacesetter units there. As Chief of Offshore Design, and later
Vice-President, & CEO of Friede & Goldman, Mr. Bennett
has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Soviet
Union. His travels have afforded him first hand knowledge and
experience in the wants and needs of operators, owners and builders
worldwide that have helped him guide the company into new fields
of endeavor.
Mr. Bennett is a charter member of the American Association of
Drilling Engineers, a member of the Society of Naval Architects
and Marine Engineers, the Royal Institute of Naval Architects,
the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Association
of Drilling Engineers, and the International Association of Drilling
Contractors. He was an active member of the Mobile Offshore Unit
Work Group for drafting the U.S.C.G. Requirements for the Mobile
Offshore Drilling Units and has been involved with various S.N.A.M.E.
work groups for the offshore industry. Mr. Bennett also served
on the advisory staff to the Royal Commission on the OCEAN RANGER
Marine Disaster (Canada) and has presented papers with regard
to Mobile Offshore Units to I.A.D.C., S.N.A.M.E., R.I.N.A., A.A.D.E.
and various other industry groups.
John W.
Bonn, business development manager, Chart Industries
John
Bonn attended Ohio State University Mechanical Engineering School
prior to starting work at CVI, a cryogenic engineering and manufacturing
company in 1961. He started in the engineering department and
held positions as project engineer, project manager and chief
engineer. CVI was purchased by Chart Industries in 1994 and he
was made Vice President of Product Development for the CVI division.
John Bonn is presently responsible for the sales, marketing and
design of vacuum insulated pipe for LNG terminal applications
for the Energy and Chemical Division of Chart Inc. His years with
the company John Bonn developed patents for cryopumping of deuterium
in high vacuum applications, a high efficiency carbon adsorber
filter for the removal of radioactive methyl iodine in nuclear
power plants and several patents related to LNG vacuum insulated
piping for aboveground, underground and subsea applications and
underground cryogenic storage tanks for LNG fueling stations.
Kathleen
Eisbrenner, graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and studied strategic
marketing management at Harvard University’s Graduate School of
Business Administration. Kathleen is president of Excelerate Energy,
LLC, a Woodlands, Texas based liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipper
and marketer. Excelerate is pursuing opportunities in the global
natural gas marketplace by developing effective, flexible and
economic solutions for upstream producers and downstream customers.
Excelerate Energy, LLC was formed in July 2003, and is owned by
George B. Kaiser of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Prior to this Kathleen worked
at El Paso Global LNG division a subsidiary of El Paso Corporation
from 1997 to 2003. She was responsible for directing the company’s
move into the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market. El Paso was
engaged in the development, construction, and operation of LNG
receiving terminals located throughout the world, as well as supply
and sales agreements associated with these facilities.
Jens
P. Kaalstad, managing director, Advanced Production and Loading
Inc.
Jens
Kaalstad has over 20 years experience in the shipping and offshore
industry. He graduated with a MSc in Naval Architecture from the
Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1983 after serving one year
at MIT, Department of Ocean Engineering in 1980-81.
Jens is the Managing Director for Advanced Production and Loading
Inc (APL Inc.) He joined and helped form APL Inc in Houston in
September 1997 where he first served as Technical Director until
August 1999. He has been very actively involved in the development
of APL's new Deepwater Offloading systems and the Energy Bridge
- Offshore LNG Terminal project.
APL Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary APL a.s. Arendal, Norway.
Prior to joining APL in 1997 he was with Aker Marine Contractors
Inc. in Houston, where his duties among others involved being
Marine Engineering Manager for the Exxon Diana DDCV project and
Project Engineer for the pre-installation of the mooring system
for Mobil FPSO Zafiro Producer in Equatorial Guinea.
Jens
Korsgaard, president, Maritime Oil & Gas Corp.
Mr. Jens Korsgaard has more than thirty years of diversified
experience in the design of marine transportation systems. His
principal area of expertise is the planning and design of liquid
bulk terminals, including LNG, LPG, crude oil, and product terminals.
He has received numerous patents for offshore oil production and
transportation related systems. He was selected to receive a grant
under the US DOE Innovative Energy Systems program. He is a licensed
professional engineer.
Mr. Korsgaard was formerly Director of Research and Development
for Wellstream Corporation. He also worked for a number of leading
US marine consulting firms and is currently the President of Maritime
Oil and Gas Corporation.
Dave
Landry, vice president, Freeport-McMoRan Energy LLC
Mr.
Landry is currently Vice President of Freeport-McMoRan and has
managed operations of Freeport's various offshore sulphur-mining
facilities since joining the company in 1976. He has extensive
experience in operations and maintenance of offshore production
facilities, sulphur and brine mining, drilling and production,
and management of technically complex projects.
Mr. Landry is currently responsible for all activities related
to conversion of Freeport's Main Pass Mine into an Energy Hub
capable of receiving and vaporizing LNG, cavern storage of hydrocarbons,
and processing of hydrocarbons for transport to the U.S. natural
gas grid.
Mr. Landry has a B.S. and Master's Degree in Engineering from
Tulane University.
Olivier
LENORMAND is Manager in the Technology Development Division of
SAIPEM-SA. This division is dealing currently mainly with deepwater
and offshore LNG projects.
He has seven years of experience in offshore oil & gas projects
in development, design and engineering of units such as offshore
LNG facilities, dry tree and drilling oil production barges for
deepwater applications.
He received his engineering degree from the "Ecole Supérieure
d'Ingénieurs de Marseille" in Marseilles, France in
1995.
He started his career with one year in D2M, a French engineering
company in naval architecture and joined the SAIPEM-SA group in
1998 (then Bouygues-Offshore) based near Paris, France.
Mr.
Bjørn Markussen has experience from research-, engineering-,
marketing-, business development and commercial operation of various
types of gas vessels.
He worked 10 years for Det norske Veritas, involved also in developing
LNG- and LPG carrier containment systems and gas vessel design.
He worked 4 years with Gotaas-Larsen, Inc in New York and London
as Manager of LNG Marketing. As President of Norwegian Gas Carriers,
Oslo he was responsible for business development and commercial
operation of a fleet of ethylene and LPG carriers. He was President
of Westgas AS, a subsidiary of Westfal-Larsen, Bergen until the
fleet of Semi-refrigerated LPG carriers was sold to A. P. Møller.
Mr. Markussen is now acting as Senior Advisor to Höegh LNG,
and he is holding an MBA and M.Sc. in Naval Architecture.
Zeus
Development Corporation is an integrated business development
company focusing on gas development and upstream technology. The
company has completed recent multi-client research in the areas
of CNG ocean transport, associated-gas-management strategies,
West Coast LNG terminals, undersea power transmission, and offshore
LNG terminal feasibility. The company also publishes several periodicals,
including: Remote Gas Strategies (monthly), LNG Express (monthly),
World LNG/GTL Review (annual); and Upstream CIO (monthly) as well
as numerous single issue white papers and special reports.
Prior to founding the company in 1991, Nimocks was vice president
of corporate development for Elders Resources North America, the
North American division of an international energy and natural
resources company with substantial natural gas production. He
earned an MBA from Harvard University (1987), served in the management
consulting division of Accenture (1981-84) and obtained BS and
BBA degrees from Mississippi State University (1981).
Greg
Pepper, business development manager, Aker Kaverner
Mr. Pepper, a native of Houston, TX has worked in the oil, gas
and petrochemical and power business for 25 years. As graduate
of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor and Masters Degree
in Physical Chemistry. Mr. Pepper spent twenty years in speciality
positions and business development in the Process Control and
instrumentation industry on industrial and utility power generating
systems and specializing in petrochemical and oil and gas process
applications and business development. Over the last five years
he has managed the Stranded Gas Applications marketing function
for Aker Kvaerner, which includes global LNG marketing for onshore
and offshore projects.
William
O. Perkins lll, president, Small Ventures USA, LLC (SMV)
Mr.
William O. Perkins lll is the president of Small Ventures USA,
L.L.C. (SMV); which was founded in 1997. SMV provides venture
capital access and consulting services to a wide customer base.
SMV has been developing an innovative LNG importation project
off the California coast. This project is held in a subsidiary
called Crystal Energy, LLC. The pre-permitting of this project
is complete and the actual permitting is now in process. More

Mr. Perkins Bill received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical
Engineering from the University of Iowa. Prior to starting SMV
and Crystal Energy L.L.C, he held director and managing partner
positions at various Energy Trading companies.
Claes
W. Olsen, vice president business development, Remora Technology
Claes
Olsen graduated M.Sc. Naval Architect & Marine Engineer from
the Norwegian Institute of Technology, University of Trondheim
1990. He has over 14 years of marine and offshore experience.
Early career work included navy submarines, ROVs and subsea field
development. Claes has worked 12 years in the Hitec Group, mainly
working with systems for offshore loading of oil and gas.
Claus has been heading the development of the HiLoad Technology
for the last 4 years. Currently working for Remora Technology
out of Houston as Vice President of Business Development.
Phillip
Rynn, senior staff consultant, American Bureau of Shipping
Philip
Rynn is a Senior Staff Consultant at ABS. He has held various
positions at ABS on the Ship Engineering Department. Mr. Rynn
has participated in Tanker Structure Cooperative, SNAME Hull Structures
Committee and the Ship Structures Subcommittee.
In the 1970 to 1980 Mr. Rynn was a member of the National Committee
on Marine Pollution. He was recently a member of the Chemical
Transportation Advisory Committee to the United States Coast Guard.
Mr. Rynn is a graduate of the State University of New York Maritime
Collage. He also is a registered Professional Engineer in the
State of New York. Philip has been a member of ABS since 1965.
Mr.
Taylor has a unique combination of LNG, underground gas storage,
and gas markets and infrastructure expertise. He is an experienced
manager, consultant, and energy entrepreneur.
Since 1993, Mr. Taylor has been President of HNG Storage Company,
where he manages the development and operation of natural gas
storage facilities. In addition to conceptualizing and locating
successful projects, Mr. Taylor has formed joint ventures with
major energy companies to co-develop projects. Mr. Taylor is actively
developing LNG import terminal projects which use salt cavern
storage in lieu of or as supplement to conventional LNG tanks.
Mr. Taylor founded the successful natural gas consulting firm
International Gas Consulting in 1990 and subsequently sold it
in 1998. This firm has concentrated on gas supply and gas storage
commercial and technical advisory and has been involved in many
of the new gas storage projects and M&A storage activities in
the USA over the past 15 years.
Mr. Taylor was Engineering Superintendent for the Badak LNG plant
in Bontang, Indonesia for 6 years where he managed and trained
the engineering support staff for the world's largest LNG production
plant. He spent an additional 4 years in Indonesia working as
General Manager for an engineering firm that supported both the
Bontang and Arun LNG plants as well as emerging Indonesian petrochemical
industry.
John
Wolff, director, Zeus Development Corporation
John
Wolff joined Zeus Development in 2004. He has over 30 years of
experience in the energy business.
Prior to joining Zeus Development, he was a partner in Brett
& Wolff LLC. He prepared various studies on CNG, LNG and biogas.
He prepared an economic assessment and design evaluation for transporting
natural gas as either CNG or LNG on the Amazon River for American
Commercial Barge Lines and Petrobras. He contributed to Zeus'
CNG Ocean Transport Study 2004.
Mr. Wolff had also been the Manager of Business Development for
Panhandle Eastern's and then Duke Energy's LNG marketing and sales
business that imported LNG at the Trunkline LNG terminal. He prepared
models to improve business decisions in the business units that
included the affiliated LNG shipping business, the LNG importing/marketing
business and the Trunkline LNG terminal. He prepared joint venture
agreements and technology assessments to increase the profitability
of the Trunkline LNG terminal, including gas processing and cold
recovery projects. He helped structure short-term LNG purchase
contracts and assessed aspects of the long-term LNG contract between
Duke Energy and Sonatrach.
Wim van Wijngaarden,
business development manager LNG, Single Buoy Moorings (SBM)
Mr.
Van Wijngaarden graduated as a Chemical Engineer at the Polytechnic
Institute of Dordrecht in the Netherlands in 1979. He then joined
Protech International (later renamed Stork Protech and Stork Engineers
and Contractors respectively) in The Netherlands, where he worked
as a process engineer, project engineer and facilities engineer
for 17 years on a variety of upstream oil and gas projects, such
as oil export terminals, pumping stations, onshore and offshore
oil and gas production facilities, onshore and offshore oil and
gas pipelines, gas compression and oil and gas gathering facilities,
FPSO's etc.
He was appointed Upstream Technology Manager in 1997, being responsible
for technology and product development in the upstream oil and
gas industry. One of the technologies that he helped move forward
was "Thermoacoustic Refrigeration"; a technology that was developed
to enable natural gas liquefaction by means of sound waves, and
without moving parts.
Since 2000 he joined SBM/Gusto Engineering, to work as Technology
Development Manager in the group R&D department, with focus on
LNG developments. In 2002 he was appointed Business Development
Manager LNG, and is now responsible for taking SBM's LNG related
products to the market. Since early 2004 he is appointed Product
Development Manager in SBM's newly formed Gas Group. He is now
responsible for developing the various Floating Gas Terminal products
that SBM is presently developing.
