Objectives

Day 1: LNG Shipping Capacity - Where Are Charter Rates Headed?
  • Review the supply and demand for LNG shipping capacity
  • Discuss current charter rates and direction of the market
  • Consider solutions for surplus vessels (e.g, regas, FSRU conversion, etc.)
  • Review the schedule for new ship deliveries and compare to new liquefaction capacity
  • Discuss wild cards that could change the outlook

Day 2: Opening New LNG Markets through the Safe and Commercial Transfer of Cargoes from Ship to Ship

  • Review the state of the technology and the current initiatives to commercialize technology to transfer LNG from ship to ship
  • Discuss the implications of this for import and export markets, from regas, to FSRU to barge fleets
  • Review the technical and safety issues one needs to consider
  • Discuss a timeline for full-scale operation
